This document informs the readers of the Colts Crossing County city
laws/ordinances. We encourage all aspiring, new, and established community members to read our Laws & Ordinances thoroughly. This document is for in-game and roleplay use and does not include our discord communities ToS, server rules, and out-of-roleplay rules. We encourage you to read the documents mentioned to prevent incidents and provide a smooth community.

The laws and ordinances may apply differently in each city. Please read them thoroughly and make sure you understand them, especially regarding the state/city where you reside.

🟍City Ordinance🟍
No Firearms within City Limits: To maintain peace and safety, carrying firearms within the city limits is strictly prohibited, except for law enforcement officers and designated individuals.
No Public Intoxication: Consumption of alcohol to the point of intoxication in public places is forbidden. Drunken behavior leading to disturbances or disorderly conduct will be met with fines or imprisonment.
No Gambling in Public: Gambling, including but not limited to games of chance and card playing, is not permitted in public areas such as streets, parks, and walkways.
Animal Control Regulations: Regulations regarding the keeping and handling of livestock and domestic animals within city limits to prevent public nuisances and maintain cleanliness.
Quarantine Measures: In response to outbreaks of contagious diseases, ordinances may be implemented to enforce quarantine measures, restricting movement and interaction to prevent the spread of illness.
Noise Ordinances: Restrictions on loud noises and disturbances during designated hours, particularly during the night, to ensure residents' peace and quiet.
Sanitation and Waste Disposal: Requirements for proper disposal of waste and maintenance of cleanliness on both public and private property to prevent the spread of disease and maintain public health.
Licensing for Businesses: Businesses operating within City Limits are required to obtain appropriate licenses and permits, ensuring compliance with regulations and taxation.
Prohibition of Public Indecency: Acts of public indecency, including but not limited to public nudity, lewd behavior, and obscene language, are strictly prohibited and subject to penalties.
Enforcement of Traffic Regulations: Enforcement of traffic laws, including speed limits, right-of-way rules, and parking regulations, to ensure safe and orderly movement of wagons, horses, and pedestrians within the city.
Blackwater City Ordinances (West Elizabeth)

Firearm Regulations: Brandishing a firearm is illegal in Blackwater, except in self-defense cases.

Public Intoxication: Public Intoxication and public drinking are illegal in the City of Blackwater. No open containers of any alcohol are permitted on the streets.

Public Gambling: No public gambling on the streets or in the parks. Only permitted locations are permitted to offer gambling table services.

Noise Ordinances: A noise ordinance is in place in the city limits from 10 PM to 6:30 AM.

Business Operations: Businesses within the city limits must obtain the appropriate licenses, permits, and business tax receipts to operate. Compliance with licensing regulations and tax orders is mandatory.

Public Disorderly Conduct: Disorderly conduct is the act of causing disruption and chaos in the public peace. This includes but is not limited to public intoxication, public nudity, lewd behavior, excessive obscene language, etc. All of these acts are strictly prohibited and are subject to prosecution.

Traffic Laws: Vehicles and personal horse transportation are prohibited from traveling at excessive speeds. Moving above a low gallop is strictly prohibited and subject to penalties. Parking in the middle of walkways, in front of business doors, or in the middle of roads is prohibited. Pedestrians have the right of way when walking across intersections.

Rooftop access: Rooftop access is reserved for maintenance, property owners, and law enforcement when needed. Trespassers will be prosecuted for accessing rooftops in the city.
Strawberry Town Ordinances (West Elizabeth)

Firearm Regulations: Brandishing a firearm is illegal in Strawberry, except in self-defense cases.

Public Intoxication: Public Intoxication and public drinking are illegal in Strawberry. Strawberry is a dry town; any alcohol is prohibited.

Public Gambling: No public gambling on the streets or in the parks. Only permitted locations are permitted to offer gambling table services.

Valentine City Ordinances (New Hanover)

Public Intoxication: Public Intoxication and public drinking are illegal in the City of Valentine. No open containers of any alcohol are permitted on the streets.

Noise Ordinances: A noise ordinance is in place in the city limits from 11 PM to 5 AM.

Business Operations: Businesses within the city limits must obtain the appropriate licenses, permits, and business tax receipts to operate. Compliance with licensing regulations and tax orders is mandatory.

Public Disorderly Conduct: Disorderly conduct is the act of causing disruption and chaos in the public peace. 🟍Frontier Laws & Ordinances🟍
Open Range Laws: Portions of the county may be designated as open ranges where livestock can roam freely. However, owners are responsible for any damage caused by their animals.
Water Rights and Usage: Regulations governing access to water sources such as rivers, streams, and wells, including priority rights, usage limits, and dispute resolution.
Homesteading Regulations: Laws outlining the process for settling and obtaining land through homesteading, including requirements for residency, cultivation, and land improvement.
Mineral Rights and Mining Claims: Regulations governing the ownership and extraction of minerals such as gold, silver, and coal, including procedures for staking mining claims and royalties.
Firearms Regulations: Similar to city ordinances, regulations regarding the use and carrying of firearms within the county include restrictions on hunting and shooting in certain areas.
Taxation and Property Assessments: Laws governing property taxation, assessments, and tax collection to fund county services such as law enforcement, infrastructure, and public education.
Public Land Use Regulations: Regulations governing the use of public lands within the county, including camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing, to ensure conservation and responsible recreation.
Public Health and Sanitation: Regulations aimed at protecting public health, including requirements for food handling, sanitation standards for businesses, and control of infectious diseases.
Hunting Regulations: Regulations to govern hunting limits, poaching, and protected species.
Open Range Laws (Stock Laws)

Cattle, sheep, and other livestock always have at least one guardian, not including a herding dog, while on the open range.

Livestock may not roam on private, commercial, or governmentally protected land without written or permitted permission.

Privately owned watering sources, feeders, etc., must not be reaped without permission.

It is prohibited to guide your livestock into other ranchers' livestock on open range.

Do not guide your livestock on public roadways except while needing to cross.

You must have licensing and proof of livestock ownership while on open range.
Open Range Laws Violation Punishment
Violation of the Open Range Laws can be punished with

First Offense: Written Warning and/or a fine of up to $500

Second Offense: Permanent Written Warning and a fine of up to $500
-
Third Offense: Jail Sentence, Suspension of Licensing, and a fine of up to $1000
-
Fourth Offense: Jail Sentencing, Revoke Licensing, and a fine of up to $3000
Water Rights and Usage

Selling privately owned water is prohibited and is not to be sold privately or commercially.

Pumping public water for your land is prohibited if you have a private water source.

Interfering with public and private water sources that feed or are run-offs of public water sources is strictly prohibited.

Documentation, Licensing, and/or a Land Deed are required to prove your watering rights.
Water Rights and Usage Violation Punishments
Violation of Water Rights and Usage can be punished with

First Offense: Written Warning and a fine of up to $250
-
Second Offense: Permanent Written Warning and a fine of up to $500
-
Third Offense: Possible jail sentence and a fine of up to $1000
-
Fourth Offense: Jail sentence and a fine of up to $1500
-
Fifth Offense: Jail Sentence of a minimum of a year.
Homesteading Rights and Regulations

To own land, you are required by law to have proper identification, licensing, if applicable, and zoning permission.

To place a camping homestead, you are required by law to have either a land deed or be on federal property and be outside city limits by a minimum of 500 yards.

Squatters do not have rights on privately owned property and are subject to prosecution.

You have the right to zone your property as you see fit. (Farming, mining, cultivation, etc.)

You are subject to federal, state, and local taxes due on your property. (Taxes are due on the 15th of every month at 5:30 AM)

Failure to uphold taxes and property regulations is subject to repossession without recompensation and possibly prosecution.

You have the right to protect your domain and property if threatened on your land.
Mineral Rights and Mining Claims

You must be a licensed miner to operate within public mines by law.

To claim mining rights on a mine or property, you must submit a claim to the local state office, the property must not be owned, and you must not have an adverse claim.
Weapons and Firearm Regulations

It is a federal offense to brandish a firearm on a public trail in the presence of others.
-
Shooting firearms off the open trail or in the direction of others can and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Hunting animals from the trail is a federal offense.
-
Discharging weapons within any city limits is highly illegal.

It is illegal to brandish a firearm while in city limits.

Carrying a weapon publically while intoxicated is a federal offense.

The following ammunition is illegal to carry and own: Dragons Breath, Explosive rounds. Split Points are reserved only for military and law enforcement.

Possession of combustible and flammable throwing objects is illegal. (Dynamite, Molotov, etc.)

The use of a roping device as a weapon is illegal. (Not applicable to law enforcement.)
Hunting Regulations
The following species are protected; hunting them is a federal offense (you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.)

The following are regulations and laws on hunting on public land and wildlife management areas.

The act of shooting an animal and leaving it hurt, injured, or maimed is illegal.

Leaving an animal corpse unreaped is illegal.

Leaving leftover spoils of your hunt on roadways is illegal.
-
Hunting on private property without permission is illegal.
-
The taking of animal life in an inhumane way is a federal offense.

Revolvers are illegal to use for hunting.
-
Hunting from public roadways is illegal.
-
Hunting without proper licensing and not carrying it in person is illegal.
